The Yoga Lounge is a small, locally-owned studio located on the historic Woodstock Square. We offer classes a 7 days a week, with certified instructors in a beautiful, warm and loving environment. Class sizes can range anywhere between 3 and 12 people per class, but average about 5-8 students in each class. Most classes are drop-in classes, meaning you can come to any class that best fits your schedule. If you’re new, you need only arrive a few minutes early. Mats, props and a dressing room are available in the studio for your use. Punch cards are available for discounted class rates.

We practice Hatha Yoga at The Yoga Lounge, offering a variety of classes including basic, gentle, all-level and intermediate classes. Our style blends Iyengar alignment principles with an organic, slow, vinyasa flow approach. All classes emphasize correct alignment and use of the breath. Students are encouraged to listen to their body and work within their own ability. Most classes begin with breathing exercises to calm and center the mind, move into a more active standing sequence of poses and then end with a deep relaxation.

The growing popularity of yoga is testament to its ability to help anyone improve both their physical health and emotional well-being. In addition to increases in flexibility, strength and mobility of the body, yoga can also significantly lower stress levels, improve circulation, develop mental clarity and focus, reduce the effects of aging, and enhance your overall quality of life.

Yoga can be used as an aid to traditional western approaches to healthcare by helping the body recover
from injuries and illnesses. It can relieve neck and back pain, joint and muscle stiffness, depression, anxiety and fatigue. Unlike western medicine which is largely a science of disease and treatment, yoga works to bridge the gap between the mind and body using ancient and proven techniques designed to maximize your own personal potential for good health and vitality.
